Vasofix Safety FEP IV Catheter 16G x 2" (50 mm)
The B. Braun Vasofix Safety FEP is a peripheral intravenous catheter with an integrated injection port and fully automatic passive needlestick protection system. This single-use medical device is designed to provide safe vascular access for blood sampling, fluid administration, medication delivery, and blood product transfusion. The fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) catheter material offers firmer insertion characteristics as an alternative to polyurethane catheters.
Key Features:
- Passive fully automatic needlestick protection that activates immediately upon needle withdrawal
- Safety mechanism cannot be bypassed, eliminating needlestick injuries and reducing infection risk
- Integrated injection port allows quick medication administration without interrupting infusion
- Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) catheter material for firmer, more controlled insertion
- Radiopaque catheter material with four fully embedded X-ray contrast strips for radiographic visibility
- Fixation wings for stable catheter positioning and reduced catheter movement complications
- Atraumatic needle tip with 3-facet bevel for excellent puncture characteristics and easy insertion
- Hydrophobic blood stop valve to minimize blood exposure and spillage
- Color-coded by gauge size for quick identification (16G = gray)
- Removable lock closure cone for secure connection
- Luer Lock compatible connector
