3M™ Curos™ Disinfecting Cap for Needleless Connectors (now manufactured by Solventum) is an innovative infection prevention device containing 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) that disinfects IV access points in just one minute. These bright green caps twist onto needleless connectors, providing passive disinfection that eliminates human technique variance and acts as a physical barrier to contamination for up to seven days if not removed. Consistent use is associated with decreased central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) in healthcare and humanitarian settings. Used to protect IV lines between accesses, reduce infection risk, and improve compliance with disinfection protocols.
