How Platforma App works
Every day, aid moves across Ukraine with no record of where it came from, who approved it, or whether it arrived.
Platforma App is four tools in one β a productivity suite, a marketplace, a crowdfunding platform, and a social network β connecting nonprofits, donors, suppliers, and recipients on a single traceable chain, for the first time.
In May 2022, Alexis Eliot moved to Kyiv. He stayed.
In 2023 he founded Doshka Foundation β a small nonprofit coordinating medical equipment donations to Ukrainian military hospitals and rehabilitation centres, working alongside dozens of NGOs and hundreds of volunteers across Europe and the US.
For two years, he ran those operations himself, alongside two occasional volunteers. And for two years, he lived inside the same set of problems that every humanitarian organisation in Ukraine was living inside β separately, invisibly, with no shared infrastructure and no way out.
Finding supplies was a full-time job on its own. Identifying which supplier makes what, in which country, at what price β then reaching them by phone or email as a tiny organisation with no procurement department and no purchasing power. Suppliers were not set up to deal with small nonprofits. Prices varied wildly across borders. The only way to access reasonable rates was to pool orders across multiple organisations β but no mechanism existed to do that. Every nonprofit was negotiating alone.
Fundraising was scattered across many social media and crowdfunding platforms simultaneously. Each with its own dashboard, its own export file, its own reporting logic. Showing a donor exactly where their contribution went meant manually assembling a spreadsheet at the end of a busy day. For a team of three people, this was not a minor inconvenience β it was a structural impossibility.
Coordination was invisible. Hundreds of organisations working in parallel, none of them able to see what the others had already received, already requested, already shipped. No shared record. Deliveries happened with no confirmation of arrival. Duplicate requests went to the same suppliers from five different nonprofits. Aid went missing not because anyone stole it β but because no one was watching the same screen.
And the network simply did not exist. No way to know which organisation had warehouse space near Kharkiv. No way to know which supplier had stock of a specific medical item this week. No way to know which recipient had already been served. Everything ran on personal contacts and memory.
Hundreds of small nonprofits supporting Ukraine all over the world. Mostly managed through messaging apps.
Alexis built Platforma App because the tool did not exist.
These last months, Platforma App has been used within Doshka Foundation to better manage inventory.
Today it is open to everyone.
